the 4.5 ha competition site is located in the munich westend. it is a former industrial area that is going to convert into an attractive urban development.
the design proposal includes three main sections. first, the urban quarter center with offices, supermarket, shops, restaurants and public spaces. second, a housing area that provides several forms of housing types connected with a variety of private open spaces. and third, the green space as a public park, including active parts like playground and sport fields, as well as a promenade and a topographical structured landscape.
these three parts together define a new urban quarter with its own structure, its own spatial quality and its own identity that orients the surrounding neighbourhood to this new defined center.
